The Birmingham Science Fiction Group was founded in 1971 to enable local and not so local fans to get together to discuss science fiction and related topics.

James Brogden is an author who lives in our local area and used this as the setting for his first novel The Narrows. He has also authored a number of short stories to be found in Alchemy Press’ collection Ancient Wonders and the upcoming collection Urban Occult. Snow Books will publish his latest book Tourmaline, planned for July.

James will be the guest at the meeting in March and plans to talk about his career so far, his new book, and how he managed to get published. This is sure to be a useful talk for other budding authors!

This meeting is on 8^th March at the Briar Rose Hotel (on the first floor) on Bennett’s Hill, Birmingham; this venue is just 5 minutes walk from New Street Station and handy for all bus routes. The meeting opens its doors at 7:30 p.m.
