Blackshaws Theatre proudly presents a brand new stage adaptation of Mervyn Peake’s classic novel, endorsed by the Peake Estate and produced in association with Iris Theatre.

Titus Groan: newborn heir to the ageless castle of Gormenghast. Gormenghast’s foundation is tradition; ceremony is its mortar.

Steerpike: kitchen boy, master schemer, social climber. Steerpike’s sights are set on the seat of power: on Titus.

Between them they will shake the castle from top to bottom. Its foundations will shudder. Its mortar will crumble. And at long last, change will come to Gormenghast.
