Only until you actually see the list in all its glory, do you realise just how many books there are, especially in the novella category.

I don't do this for money - he says, taking a look at his bank balance - so any book being recommended for an award is extremely gratifying, and therefore without further ado here is the run-down of Pendragon titles:

Best Anthology: Choices and Triquorum One;

Best Collection: At the Molehills of Madness by Rhys Hughes;

Best Novella:
Rough Cut by Gary McMahon

(from Triquorum One)
"Thirty Million Day Dance Card" by John Grant
"The Interlopers" by Allen Ashley

(from Choices)
"Kid" by Paul Finch
"The Last Kiss" by Andrew Humphrey
"Certain Faces" by Stephen Volk
"Hitch" by Gary Fry
"Memory of Joy" by Eric Brown
"Radio Trauma" by Richard Wright

Best Short Story: "Leaves of Glass" by Lavie Tidhar;

Best Artist: Vincent Chong ("Rough Cut");

Best Small Press: erm, the Welsh bloke - you know, wossname, Darren something...  Grin

Anyway, see you all at FantasyCon, and if you're extra nice then I'll allow you to buy me a beer.  Cool

"I want it to ween!"

Yes, Chris, but if it wins then that means other Pendragon-published novellas can't.

I make no mention here of, say, novellas that mention dancecards in their titles.

Support all your authors, man! Say you want them all to win, dammit!

Technically, there should really be another category for novelettes... this would ease the pain that I am feeling right now, since I have so many titles riding in the novella category.  Cry

There should definately be a novelette category.

From Wikipedia:

The Science Fiction and Fantasy Writers of America Nebula awards for science fiction define the novelette as having a word count between 7,500 and 17,500, or 45?85 pages, in length.

I suppose it all boils down to expense of producing two awards - hopefully, anthology and collection will remain separate.  Huh?

Many thanks to all the members who considered Pendragon Press worthy of a nomination in Best Small Press, along with Gary McMahon, Paul Finch and Eric Brown in the Best Novella category.

You made my day - and if you're curious at all in September, then mine's a Guinness.  Grin
