I've not see one, yet, so I don't know how they came out. There was a last-minute problem with formatting, but it had to go to the printer, so it may look a little odd in places...

Hopefully not too odd...

Normal service will be resumed...

The cover is really nice - did you do it? Reminds me of the style of the game LocoRoco.

You're right to be concerned about the formatting, though - it's all over the place, the layout's really weird, and there are some really bad mistakes in the text. It looks like you accidentally sent the first draft pdf to the printers...

Yeah, the formatting problem is completely down to me, and my poor choice of software - it's back to InDesign for the next issue, methinks... (though I haven't seen a copy, yet, so it's entirely possible that the printers have introduced a few additional irregularities...)

I didn't do the cover illustration - it was a piece of stock art that looked appropriate (I like to rotatethe cover art so that we have an equal mix of fantasy, horror and science fiction).

My 4 year old daughter is better at drawing than me!

Well, if you need any help on the next issue, I've done a lot of typesetting (though I work in Quark rather than InDesign), and I have thousands of copy editing macros ready to swarm across any text I offer them...

Same here - that's why I asked her to do the illustrations for the most recent Theaker's Quarterly!

Hope yours is settling into her new class okay. Mine's enjoying spending the whole day at school, but is getting into trouble for not eating her dinner.
