I think it was Sight Unseen that Joel Lane read at FantasyCon. That was one of the highlights for us.

Good to see Michael Shea in this anthology. I enjoyed A Quest for Simibilis, so I was a bit disappointed that he wasn't in Tales of the Dying Earth.

I just realized that I haven't been around in way too long. For anyone interested, I've had a number of anthologies out in 2010 so far: The Best Horror of the Year volume two, Tails of Wonder and Imagination: Cat Tales; Darkness: Two Decades of Modern Horror, and Digital Domains: A Decade of Science Fiction and Fantasy --they're all reprint anthologies. I also had an original anthology come out with Terri Windling:The Beastly Bride and Other Tales of the Animal People, a young adult anthology. And in September, Haunted Legends co-edited by me and Nick Mamatas will be out from Tor. If anyone's curious about any of these and you haven't see the TOC, ask and I'll post them here.

I'm going over galleys forTeeth , a teenage vampire anthology co-edited with Terri Windling coming out in April. This is not your sparkly vampire anthology but it is definitely more for young adults than adults. I'll be posting the TOC and the cover as soon as the revised text on the cover is approved by our in-house editor. If I can do so here I will but it'll be on my lj and facebook accounts.

Finishing up two original anthologies over the next month or so.

And I'll be traveling a lot for the next few months. Readercon, then teaching Clarion West in Seattle for the second half of July and off to Australia for Aussiecon mid-August.

Last week I handed in the final story for my big urban fantasy anthology Naked City: New Tales of Urban Fantasy which is not filled with paranormal romance. In fact, it's my attempt to take back the term 'urban fantasy" from the blitz of marketing craziness which co-opted it.

Jeff VanderMeer started an interesting discussion about it on his blog:

Thanks. It's pretty varied. When I have more info and jacket art I'll post it.

That's some line-up. Here's hoping some of the paranormal romantics stumble across it by mistake and are pleasantly surprised.
