Not all areas can get DAB, I will research into which. I know the North West and London have pretty good coverage.

If you know what is and is not covered could you post here please. Note: Indendent and BBC coverage are not the same. Oneword is also available in the US, on DAB.

Recently the independent license for Reading was awarded.

Here is new s form http://www.ukdigitalradio.com about increased coverage. You can also get free newsletter and magazine fron their site. (Both hard and electronic copies)

*National BBC coverage*
We've just heard that the BBC have switched on the first of their new
transmitters increasing the
coverage area of their national network.  If you live any where near Dover,
Birmingham, Salisbury or
Bath and did a rescan on your radio you might find that you're now picking up
their signals.

*New local licences*
The Inverness local multiplex has now been launched, so if you live in that area
and want to see the new
stations you can receive, have a look at

Indepent Digital Radio coverage is about 85% of the population. Scotland, N.Ireland and Wales getting the short end of the stick again.

Check out this site for details and get a free mag. as well.

http://www.digitalradionow.com/

For the BBC coverage it is only 65% coverage. 5 new transmitters are coming on line. By the end of 2003 it should be 80% and 85% by early 2004. The celtic fringe is again shafted.    The latest transmitter on line is the Isle of Wight, re-scan if you're near it. That includes Portsmouth and Southampton areas. Check the site below for coverage etc.

Hello The expansion of DAB continues apace. They even added a Manchester transmitter a while back. So if your DAB reception is a little rubbish retune it may just work. Good news this week for Scottish listeners.

As from 29th October the thirteenth of the new BBC DAB transmitters began broadcasting across the Dundee area from the Angus transmitter, bringing the BBC national DAB multiplex to a further 320,000 listeners.

A Scottish transmitter called Angus, good grief.
