Would anyone be interested in starting/joining an online writing group specifically for the fantasy/horror/sci-fi genres?

My basic idea is, everyone who joins the group would be added to the mailing list and once a month (or so) everyone would send a copy of what they'd been working on and get feedback/suggestions which would also be sent to everyone on the list for open discussion.

I realise this may seem a bit sad, but if anyone's interested please email me (cheetahandco@hotmail.com).

Oh, and in case anyone suggests I try joining a local writing group, I've checked it out and they seem to be mostly people over a hundred years old and rather posh who wouldn't recognise an orc if he smacked them around the head with a club with nails in.

We may have just the thing for you! Some members are in the process of resurrecting the BFS writing group from the seventies, Whirlpool. There's a discussion thread here, but they also have their own private forum. Would you like me to give you access?

Done!

You should now be able to see the Whirlpool forum underneath the FantasyCon board.

You went to my local writing group?  I got told off at mine because one of my characters swore and had sex.

Not wanting to distract from Whirlpool but I can strongly recommend the critique group at Cafe Doom.
http://www.cafedoom.com

The critiquers include magazine publishers and experienced boot camp survivors. In spite of offering tough crits we are a genial friendly group. Several BFS members are in there including me.
