My short story, "On The Beach", has been accepted for publication in the new magazine "Unspoken Water".

I've recorded a six-part series of radio shows for local Norwich station Future Radio playing songs focussing on lyrical content. More information as to when these will be broadcast will follow.

Still reading reams and reams of books for the World Fantasy Awards!

Wrote a couple of new shorts recently: "The Human Map" and "Cold Water Killer".

Am doing a book signing this Saturday afternoon (2-3pm, I think) at St Gregory's church in Norwich, where I'll be signing copies of "And God Created Zombies" and "Ponthe Oldenguine".

Almost forgot, "Ponthe Oldenguine" is recommended in the novella category for this years BFS awards. Make the penguin happy and vote if you enjoyed it!

Also sold "The Human Map" to the forthcoming Eibonvale anthology, "Where Are We Going?"

Couple more story acceptances:

"The Indecipherable Dust" will appear in a free giveaway booklet celebrating five years of NewCon Press. As far as I know, this will be exclusive to the NewCon Press party attendees at an event in London on the 9th July. I'm not sure who the other contributors will be, but it's sure to be interesting. I'll post more details about the event later this month.

And I've sold "Wounder" to Morpheus Tales.

I've got a six week show on Future Radio (www.futureradio.co.uk) on Tuesdays from 3-4pm for the next five weeks (it started last week but I didn't find out until after the broadcast - their online schedule has yet to be updated too).

Titled "Listen Hard, Listen Good" I'm focussing on songs where I think the lyrics are particularly important and examining the relationship (in a very light, non-intellectual way) between music and lyrics. This week I'm playing stuff by Ramones, Emilie Simone (with lyrics by Graham Joyce), Robyn Hitchcock, Bjork, Maximo Park and others I can't currently remember.

There's currently no podcast available, so listening live is the only option. And anyone outside 3 miles of Norwich will have to listen online. But do listen, please

My story, "On The Beach" has been published in the first issue of Unspoken Water (other BFS contributors include Joel Lane and Gary McMahon).

I've written two new short stories: "Things That Are Here Now, Things That Were There Then" and "Dizzy Land".

New short story written: "Eskimo". It's a Japanese superhero story.

And as posted elsewhere, I'm stepping down from editing New Horizons. I think it's time I took a step back from volunteering for things I don't really have time for

Speaking of which, the nominees for the 2011 World Fantasy Awards, as judged by myself and four others have recently been announced. Ultimately, I thoroughly enjoyed doing this and would recommend it to anyone.

How many books had you received by the end of it..?

A total of 318, Stephen. Plus about 20 magazines. And of those 318 which weren't novels but which were anthologies and collections I had to go through all the eligible stories of course. For me, those that made the shortlist were the books and stories that I simply couldn't possibly put down, even knowing I had all the other books in the queue.

Cor blimey - I struggled to get through half a dozen novels for the BFS best newcomer award last year! Well done - the shortlist looks really good.

It was definitely a struggle...but worth it. And we're very proud of the final nominations.

Meantime, my short story "Ennui" has just been published in the anthology, Art From Art (Modernist Press). This is a large 'coffee table' type book with all contributions inspired by a piece of art (whether paintings, film, music, books etc). Looks great! And in addition, the story I wrote two days ago, "Eskimo", has been accepted by PS Publishing for a future edition of their PostScripts magazine.
