Information about "Nitrospective", my forthcoming short story collection from DogHorn Publishing, containing 21 tales some previously published in PostScripts, Art From Art, Midnight Street and Morpheus Tales, can be found here: http://www.doghornpublishing.com/nitrospective.html. Hopefully the book will be out in time for FantasyCon.

The above book, "Nitrospective", has now arrived from my publisher and I will be hawking copies this weekend at FantasyCon at a discounted price of £10. Twenty-one stories, 270 pages. That's less than 50p per story Smiley

Also, if you click on the link above, the website has been updated with payment options.

Finally, wrote another new story last night: "The Caged Sea". Am also working on a new novel: "The Church of Wire".

I'm about 30,000 words into the new novel, "Church of Wire", and it's going well so far. Plus I've written a new short story: "The Al Pacino Appreciation Society".

Meanwhile, my crime story "Space Gun" has been published in Needle magazine.

I've had a couple of short story acceptances recently for anthologies, however I'm having to keep the names of both the publications under my hat for the moment. The stories in question are "Things That Are Here Now, Things That Were There Then" and "The Al Pacino Appreciation Society". More news as and when I can release it Smiley

Thanks Ray.

News of a couple of forthcoming short story publications:

"Wounder" is available now in "13" from Morpheus Tales, featuring fiction by Eric S Brown, Joseph D’Lacey, Gary Fry, Andrew Hook, Shaun Jeffrey, Matt Leyshon, Gary McMahon, Andy Remic, Stanley Riiks, Tommy B. Smith, Alan Spencer, Fred Venturini, and William R.D. Wood. Available from lulu.com and all good booksellers - www.lulu.com/product/paperback/13-tales-of-dark-fiction/18720432

And "Dizzy Land" will be in the next Black Static which I understand has just gone to print.

Unusually I didn't manage to write a short story in November, but I am now 58,000 words into the novel, "Church of Wire" instead.

Great going - makes me feel very bad about how much I haven't done for the novel recently!  58,000 - you'll be there in no time...

Thanks Ray. I'm aiming for a minimum of 80,000 (although no doubt it'll be more) and expect to finish it by the end of January - fingers crossed!

Just finished the first draft of my novel, "Church of Wire", which has come in around 85,000 words. Feel quite emotionally drained now Smiley

Cheers Ray. It is such a slog with a novel, which is why I will always prefer writing short stories. I guess a novel is a long term relationship whilst a short story can be a one night stand. (not quite sure how that analogy works in terms, but I did like the sound of it!).

As someone who favours the short form myself, I'll now feel dirty every time I write something!  Not a bad thing, I suppose.  Grin

Although, does that mean getting it published is a form of kiss and tell?  Is keeping the contributor's copy a notch on the bedpost?

Notches on the bedpost is a great analogy! Although I soon won't have much of a bedpost left.

I can now confirm that my story, "Things That Are Here Now, Things That Were There Then" will be published in the anthology, "Dark Currents", from NewCon Press sometime in the Spring.

And also another short, "The Quickening", will appear in the next issue of Shadows & Tall Trees. This is actually my 100th story acceptance (although probably won't be the 100th published, due to the schedule of other publications). To be honest, that figure doesn't quite seem real!
