So, hello, this is me and you can ask me questions on anything to do with publishing or the book what I wrote.

This here is the beautiful book what I wrote: http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/190673528X/ref=s9_simh_gw_p14_i1?pf_rd_m=A3P5ROKL5A1OLE&pf_rd_s=center-1&pf_rd_r=0GTEM7GQ8QXJMCR5SYYD&pf_rd_t=101&pf_rd_p=467198433&pf_rd_i=468294

It's a sword and sorcery fantasy tale very much inspired by Fritz Leiber, Robert Howard and H.P. Lovecraft. I think you'll enjoy it, why not check it out?

Other than that I am the editor-in-chief of Abaddon Books and Solaris. So I will happily banter about publishing in general, though please do not use this board for submissions. We are closed to them.

Except that I've given up booze for lent!

I will now quietly cry in the corner.

Seriously, lent is a deeply spiritual time.

But I'd love a pint.

THE CALL OF KERBEROS

'Silus is a fisherman working the Nurn coast; a simple man leading a simple life. But there is more to Silus than even he knows. Soon Silus's life is turned upside down when a mysterious man on the run from the Final Faith tries to persuade him to embark on an extraordinary voyage. Soon Silus becomes a pawn in a deadly game played between ancient races - and he must take to the forbidding Twilight seas to discover a world-shattering truth about his own abilities.'

Folks may not know of this yet, as it's only just been advertised to trade:

http://www.amazon.co.uk/End-Line-Christopher-Fowler/dp/1907519327/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1268758349&sr=8-2

Anyway, The End of The Line is an anthology of horror stories set on and around the Underground and places deep below. We have a cracking line up for this and an evocative cover.

Jonathan, must get hold of your book, anything that mixes Leiber, Howard and Lovecraft is fine by me.

I have to say I just listened to both the podcasts you guys produced and as well as being good fun I was mighty impressed with the line up of the Solaris and Abaddon books that are coming soon. Despite having Conrad William's - Decay Inevitable on my tbr pile I hadn't realised solaris were getting into the horror/dark fantasy market as strongly as you are but with you and Angry Robot both producing great books, looks like the book shops will finally be able to re-introduce the horror section. Good luck!

Hi Colin

Well, if you're at WHC next weekend we'll have copies on sale. I could even deface the title page with my foul scrawl for you if you so wish. Otherwise it is available from all good bookstores... and probably some shit ones too.

Glad you're also liking the podcasts. Just recorded our third yesterday with me interviewing artist Greg Staples. Yes, very very much a horror fan myself so not shying away from that material. I'm a huge Ramsey Campbell fan and I even wrote my BA dissertation on British horror writers (many many moons ago). Conrad is ace. I was at the launch for his very first novel, Head Injuries, and it remains one of my favourite novels of supernatural fiction. When I saw that he was with Solaris when we brought the list I was very much enthused about him doing more for us.

Anyhew, speak to you soon.

Unfortunately I'm not going to whc, probably costs more to get from Inverness - brighton than it will to get to Texas next year! Not to worry we have plenty of shit bookstores so I'll get hold of a copy and forge your signature. Wink

Enjoyed everything I have read by Conrad so far but the standout for me was Rain, he seemed to go up a gear for that one.

Please make sure you put one in my hot little hands to read for The Best Horror of the Year volume 3!
