News just in: Joe Hill will be attending tomorrow night's Open Night

The next BFS London Open Night is scheduled for Friday 3 June from 6.00pm until going-home time at the Mug House, 1-3 Tooley Street, London, SE1 2PF (free entry).

Both British Fantasy Society members and non-members are welcome to join us for an evening of friendly chat and a drink or two. If you enjoy fantasy, horror, or SF books, movies and television and have been waiting to cast off the shackles of an online social life … this event is aimed at you. Past attendees of these BFS soirees include Tim Powers, Clive Barker, Lauren Beukes, Pat Cadigan, Stephen Jones, Brian Aldiss, Neil Gaiman, Sarah Pinborough … so don't be a stranger, come along and join in the fun.

The Mug House is a Victorian-style wine bar and ale house situated in the last remaining arch of the original London Bridge in Southwark, a short walk from London Bridge Station and close to many of the attractions on the South Bank.

Sorry to have missed it, but we were compensated by spending the evening at an Iain M Banks talk & then drinking with said author thanks to the company of Graham Joyce, along with some of the other Speculators (the writing group we're in).

Thanks guys... we're staying with The Mug House at present due to our wonderful host Mr. Craig Lockley, and his great venue.

Just waiting for confirmation on the date of the next one... get in touch if you want to launch a book at this or future events

Can't make it to London? Have a go at organising a local event... I can hear the Welsh crowd from here, Chris!

Hi Martin,

I'll drop you a line later about this - Dark Continents would like to launch P is for Phobia at the December event.

I don't get the time to go on the forums much, hence the late reply  Smiley but I can't see there being a problem with this!

Hi Ben - yes. Here's the info on it from the website:

http://www.britishfantasysociety.co.uk/news/bfs-xmas-open-night-in-london/

Are you signed up for Martin's newsletter? (there's a button to click on the right-hand side of the website - scroll about half way down the page - if you want to sign up for it) There's always news on it in there too.

No problem, Ben - we could do with putting it on the new events calendar and I need to update the news bit too, to be honest.

Josh - I don't know about a charity raffle as I've never been to one of those London open nights (too far for me). Might be best to PM Martin Roberts or email him on events@britishfantasysociety.org. He'll be able to tell you if something's been arranged there.

Just to confirm to those not signed up to the FREE e-Newsletter...I will be running a raffle but the funds raised will go to the BFS to help finance publicity etc.

Feel free to email me on events@britishfantasysociety.org I just don't get the spare time at the moment to keep up to date with the forum.
