I am the author of a trilogy called the Prophecy of the Kings. My author page contains sample chapters and reviews, all genuine. http://davidburrows.org.uk/. I also have a more US leaning website at http://prophecyofthekings.com/

I really enjoy writing and found myself stuck on occasions with the central characters were in dire peril. I didn't want to make it easy for them, so I waited and waited until an idea came to me. Then I rushed to find pen and paper, to get the plot moving again. It was like reading a novel and turning a page with that satisfying eureka moment.

My greatest achievements to date have been, the books achieved a Gold Award on http://readersfavorite.com/cat-71.htm?review=3451. The Prophecy of the Kings was also July Book of the Month on http://www.sciencefictionandfantasy.co.uk/legacy-of-the-eldric.htm.. By far the best moment though was a reader saying she slowed down on the last volume as she didn't want the books to end.

My new book is being offered free[/u] as an ebook on Kindle from the 13th January to the 15th January. This is a brand spanking new novel and not even out as a paperbook officially yet!! So this is a good opportunity to step in and get a free copy when it happens. Put the date in your diaries!  Smiley

http://www.amazon.co.uk/Drachars-Demons-ebook/dp/B006F63352/ref=sr_1_1?s=digital-text&ie=UTF8&qid=1325432871&sr=1-1

Drachar, banished by his own people, forges an unholy alliance with the demons by offering them ten thousand souls, but the demons demand one hundred thousand and without quibbling Drachar accepts. Only all out war will deliver so many souls and the old enemy Trosgarth is his only potential ally, but he must cross the land to confront their king and persuade him to his cause. Drachar has the power of the demon world at his command, but madness threatens when the demons plague his dreams, demanding souls.

His people, the Eldric, realise that they must learn to combat the growing threat by summoning demons themselves to exploit any weakness they may find. However, it is an exceptionally brave man that confronts a demon let alone tries to kill one. Their scales are impervious to blades and any mistake results in the demon claiming another soul for eternal damnation.

The race is on for war threatens; a war like no other for sorcerer will battle sorcerer and demon set against demon.

Check out my website for sample chapters and reviews. http://davidburrows.org.uk/

Thanks for letting us know, David.  I downloaded mine yesterday and it is now in the reading queue!  Great initiative and I hope it is successful for you.

I have not read "Prophecy of Kings" yet and hope this story is stand-alone although set in the same world.

Cheers, Phillip

Thanks Phillip. Yes, it's very much a standalone tale. Hope you enjoy it as much as I did in writing it. It's available on kindle to download free all of tomorrow as well.

This is my latest review on risingshadow.net

I can recommend this book to readers who enjoy reading traditional epic fantasy stories, because it's among the best new traditional fantasy books published during the recent years.

Read the full review at - http://en.risingshadow.net/articles/168-a-review-of-david-burrows-prophecy-of-the-kings-trilogy-omnibus

This is my second review of this sort:

This is the most captivating fantasy work that I have read in the last 10 years. The tale starts as a simple adventure but soon runs into magic, parallel worlds, dragons and souls connected through time and space. The story unfolds in 3-D technicolour in your mind as you read with each character coming to life as they arrive in the storyline. If you like your fantasy with twists and turns written with a refreshing originality, then this is the book for you. http://www.amazon.co.uk/Prophecy-Kings-Omnibus-David-Burrows/dp/0955676088/ref=sr_1_5?ie=UTF8&qid=1331468278&sr=8-5

My books are discounted at the moment. Check them out at http://davidburrows.org.uk/ukbooks.html

Anyone read my books - let me know what you think.

FantasyCon. Wow, what can I say. I really enjoyed it. It was brilliant meeting Brent Weeks and Joe Abercrombie. My son is very much a Brent Week's fan whereas I like both authors. Mind you he hasn't read Joe's books yet! Both are very gritty writers. But, what nice people. We heard both giving readings in a very pleasant and personal environment. They both gave stunning performances, but Brent had a very brilliant twist to his. It was all about Spoilers so I can't say anything here in respect to the great man, but it was awesome and had his fans groaning in a mixture of disbelief and frustration.

The event itself was also brilliant. Very few fans though and rather a lot of authors and publishers. There were book signings by lots of different publishing houses. Reading by authors, freebies etc. Great mixture of characters. I met some really nice and genuine folk. Chris of Pendragon Press, Terry from Exaggerated press.

The venue is also interesting, Brighton. However, it's a tad expensive. Brighton is always lively and probably would have been better if we'd know our way around better. The pubs, hotel and especially parking were all very expensive and probably explained the absence of fans

As a less well established author, reviews are terrifically important. My favourite ones are usually on fantasy blog sites as these have an established reputation. Theses are amongst my favourite to date. I hope they prompt you to give the books a try. All reviews are genuine and links lead to the full review.

Prophecy of the Kings is amongst the best new traditional fantasy books published during recent years http://en.risingshadow.net/articles/168-a-review-of-david-burrows-prophecy-of-the-kings-trilogy-omnibus

Prophecy of the Kings - a phenomenal series and should not be missed http://sfbook.com/shadow-of-the-demon.htm

By far my favourite review though was by Neo here on Kindleboards;

I'm halfway through Shadow of the Demon (book 3) and couldn't agree more: this is a fantastic trilogy, one of the most enjoyable reads I have had in a while, really! Now it's getting bitter sweet though: can't wait to read what happens next (and how it finishes) and I NEED to read on, but I also don't want it to end and so find myself slowing down, aaaargh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Thank you for writing it and bringing your readers such a good time through it David  http://www.kindleboards.com/index.php/topic,24029.0.html

That was such a heartfelt review. Amazing and thanks all. Keep the reviews coming please!

The review states It's one of the most enjoyable fantasy books I've read this year.  I'm rather glad the review came in at the end of 2012 rather than at the start of 2013!

What an excellent review. Check out sample chapters at http://prophecyofthekings.com/drachar's_demons_burrows.html
