Hey, as long as we're committed to print publications, I'm delighted they're of this quality. Well done Cav & Lou & team.

I'm just getting into my copy, but so far, it is tremendous.

When I see publications this well designed, I have to wonder, Who would rather have an e-version?
(Yes, I realise that some people need the eBook for other reasons)

That probably goes without saying, unless they need the ebook for easy transportation like taking loads of books on holiday.
What's the BFS for if it's not preserving things for the future as paper artefacts with BFS members' work in it?

Talking of which, is the kindle version to follow, or should I have received it by now?

The latest “BFS Journal” looks appealing both externally and internally.  I like the design refit around the non-fiction features although I’m with Mike and Peter regarding using capital letters. They were invented for a reason, you know…!
Maybe my memory is failing but it must be a heck of a long time since the prolific maestro Rhys Hughes featured in a BFS publication.  In fact, I’m not sure if I’ve ever seen his by-line in a “Dark Horizons” / “Journal” before.
Thanks again to Caroline for her comments regarding my story “Faerie Mails”.  It was fun to write the piece.

I started that off 'complaining' about the lower case letters, Allen.  I look forward to reaching your story in my real-time review (the first review of this book's fiction?). I've just finished and reviewed the excellent 'marie o'regan' story. Smiley
Yes, the Rhys story in the Journal is one of his top masterpieces.  I understand it's the first chapter of a novel-in-progress.

Hi David,

An email about the ebook versions (mobi, ePub and PDF) should hopefully following soon. Just have a few teething problems actually getting it sent. Hopefully that will be rectified soon.

Oh heck!  Two years without posting and I make a mistake!  Sorry about that, Des.
Aside from that, I’ve started on the non-fiction content and it looks good –conversational and approachable but still useful and grounded in fact or well-informed opinions.

No problem, Allen, I just thought I needed to lay the blame for starting that topic with myself! Meanwhile, I've finished reading and reviewing the fiction in the Journal. OMG, I think this is my Holy Grail of a gestalt in all my years of real-time reviewing. http://nullimmortalis.wordpress.com/2012/04/29/bfs-journal-spring-2012/

Fiction *and* poetry.
Even after finishing the review further 'connections' that I missed keep hatching out...
Please let me know if anybody sees any.
