Hey everybody,

Thought that I'd just stop by and finally introduce myself after lurking in the shadows for so long that the forum police asked me to move along.

I'm originally from Pompey but now live in East Anglia.

I've written over a hundred short stories, mostly in the ghost/horror genre and have been lucky enough to get a fair number of these published recently. Although most of my stories are horror ones my passion is fantasy and in particular epic and heroic fantasy.  I've read all the Gemmell and Eddings books I can lay my hands on. I also like Fiona McIntosh and Terry Brooks. I'd love to read the Game of Thrones books as I'm loving the series, but frankly those books are so fat they frighten me and they're not so much a read as a lifetime commitment.

After 2 years of futilely trying to acquire an agent for my book, this year I started to approach publishers direct and I'm delighted to say that my debut novel, Destiny of the sword, the first in the Chronicles of Arkadia series, a heroic fantasy tale, has just been published and is now available on Amazon.

I really look forward to chatting and learning from some of you guys over the coming weeks.

Cheers for now,

Jeff

Hi Jeff and welcome.
As for the forum policeman, the less said the better about that.
According to my Norfolk book of squit Pompey was destroyed in 79CE so you must be getting on a bit. Which bit of East Anglia do you live in? We might even be neighbours

Hi Guys and thanks for the welcome!

I live in the badlands of Essex, which Norfolk people probably don't consider part of East Anglia, but it makes me feel good to say that I do.

Thanks Des and Jim - really pleased to be here and looking forward to learning from you guys.

I haven't had a chance to fully explore the site yet, but is there anybody on here that is willing to review a fantasy novel in an official capacity for the BFS? Just published my debut novel and obviously desperate to get as much publicity as I can and can't think of a better way than to get a (hopefully) favourable review from the BFS.

Thanks again for the welcome guys.

Not part of the ancient Kingdom, however somewhere along the line Essex and Bedfordshire seem to have tagged along. You just carry on feeling good, Bor. Do you live anywhere near Borley? I always wanted to go there and see that singing nun.
