I've worked out how to insert a link to an image. But how the hell do I insert a hyperlink to a webpage?

For example, I tried to make "The Birmingham Independent Book Fair" a link to http://www.writingwestmidlands.org/ai1ec_event/birmingham-independent-book-fair/?instance_id= but without success. I feel such a failure
 Huh?

1. Type out the text you want to add the link to, e.g.:

Theaker's Quarterly is the king of magazines!

2. Highlight it and click the insert hyperlink icon (the little world), to get this (albeit with square brackets):

(url)Theaker's Quarterly is the king of magazines!(/url)

3. Add = and the link to the first url, e.g.:

(url=http://www.theakersquarterly.blogspot.co.uk)Theaker's Quarterly is the king of magazines!(/url)

The round brackets are just so that you can see the example - with square brackets that becomes:

Theaker's Quarterly is the king of magazines!

Thank you Stephen. I had a bet you'd come up trumps and I won £10. Unfortunately, that's £10 from one of m pockets the the other.

Glad to see there are other people who have no idea how to do these things. I'm currently trying to work out how you link a thumbnail image to a link to a pdf. Basically, trying to put a picture next to a link so that you can see what you are downloading. ..help Sad

Don't worry Des, I'm being either erudite -- or simplistic. Take your pick.

From our pictures-off-Wikipedia phase... Some good stories in there too. David Tallerman is just about to have a second novel published by Angry Robot.
