Whilst working at Pan, Webb commissioned Douglas Adams to adapt his radio play The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy into a novel, resulting in the bestselling book. He also wrote Adams’ official biography, Wish You Were Here, following Adams’ death in 2001.
